A 2009 Reflection

2009 December 21
by Grace Boyle

My one year anniversary of blogging was back in August. The one year post I wrote was symbolic because it also marked living in Boulder for one year. Let’s look back on 2009…

photo-2491Here’s to many more big ideas, from these small hands.

Milestones:

To date, I have 232 blog posts, 1,666 comments and from the below graph, a large rate of growth in page views and visits.

In 2009, I wrote 12 guest posts, hosted 12 guest posts on my blog, I was featured on Ryan Stephens Top Ten Gen Y Blogs list June, August, October and December (consecutively). I was interviewed by video and blog, featured in two large newspapers, had my work copied from a newspaper columnist, participated in four prolific blogging series, hosted my own series with 15 bloggers around the country, and I met blogging friends in real life (IRL) for the first time (not to mention, all the friends I have made ‘online’).

Best of 2009:

Some of you have been reading for a day, some for over a year. Either way, I want to express my gratitude and thanks. If you have a favorite post or even a post you disliked, please share. Feedback and growth keep us going.

@Matt Aw, thank you. I remember talking with you when you were at the agency back in Nashville and just beginning to blog. You reached out about my (impromptu) inspires me series and the rest is history :) You've taken so many leaps and I can't wait to also meet IRL! Thanks for always supporting, Matt.

@Rich Thank you. I only hope to be a small source of inspiration to readers because I know how far it can go. You're right, my hands are itty bitty. The blog title isn't a joke 😉 although I am very sarcastic. So glad we've met/connected/talked as well. To many more, cheers!

Haha Rich I was going to say the same thing – she DOES have really small hands! Who knew! By the way Rich runs a fantastic blog which I enjoy quite a bit, so big ups to him.

Keep writing the good stuff Grace, and keep it going next year. I will slowly work through the back links you posted here over the next few weeks.

@Royce I know, I should have this picture be my logo or at least in my about page. Ha, I wouldn't have this be my title if it weren't (dorkily) really true 😉

Thanks for your constant support. It's been good to meet you Royce and look forward to many more conversations, thoughts and commenting back and forth in 2010. Cheers!

    Merry Christmas Grace!

I loved this round-up, especially your adorable picture at the top. I'm so impressed by all the work that you do, and really can't wait to continue following in 2010. You are an amazing person, and I am so glad our paths have crossed!

    Happy, Happy Holidays!
    Jenny

P.S. AWESOME graph to! If that's not “up and to the right” I don't know what is 😀

@Jenny Thank you :) I'm definitely thinking of including a small photo hand in a logo (that I desperately need). LOL.

You are so inspiring and well-spoken/written. I can't wait until we meet up (As I know it will happen). I geek out thanks to Google with the graphs hehe Merry Christmas!
