I only recently started blogging and its been a great way to get my thoughts out and help me understand myself better. Its nice to just create for the sake of creating. I started for a simple reason. I wanted to document what it was like living outside a cubicle running my own business because life is too short to spend about 14,000 hours a year in a cubicle.

I'm new to blogging, so I'm still trying to become more comfortable with my writing style and figuring out the direction I'd like my blog to go. Like you, I jumped right in to my first post, and I still get a lot of spontaneous post inspiration from articles I've read or topics I'm working on for school. Tell your friend that there's no such thing as the “perfect time” to start his blog; social media is evolving every day and it's better to experience the changes than to watch from the outside.

My blogging started only a few months ago on the day my baby was 9 months and my partner and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. The first post was my answer to the question – How do you define a woman? blog.rachaelstott.com/2009/03/a-woman-is-made/

I am passionate about women finding themselves and getting grounded in themselves. So I thought I would write about the lessons I learned doing exactly that. I have found myself someplace very different than I had anticipated so I write about growth and the meaning in the everyday. Writing gives me the reason to reflect on the small things and to focus on the lessons I can learn from my experience. I hope that in some way my lessons and honesty are valuable to others.

I love the blogs of pretty much every other commenter and only hope my blog one day morphs evolves into something as fun to read as theirs.
