@Siva Wow, it looks like you've done a lot of commenting on my blog recently. Thanks for all your thoughts.

As for Lijit, we do have potential and that would probably be seen by many top bloggers around the world that are using us, and over 10,000 blogs and websites currently using Lijit. To your point, anything on the web is public. So why not bring it all together in a custom search, built around all of your content? That is what Lijit does. Plus we provide stats around your search and traffic and monetize your search.

A lot of people have a YouTube, Flickr, Twitter, etc. account but their readers on their blog can't find that information. If you search for "Boulder" on my blog with Lijit, you will see tweets I wrote about Boulder, pictures and videos I have about Boulder and also my blog posts. It brings everything together, which helps my readers discover content. Hope that helps explain :) You should check it out. Its easy and free.

When i was checking out Lijit site, the first thing came to my mind was how come this business has any potential? Because i wonder Blogging is mostly public and people would like to keep it public with minimal private content. Other social networking sites work on privacy. How come people will signup to Lijit to link everything to show all in a simple search to strangers? My functional understanding may be wrong, you could explain a bit. :)

Barney,

I take my comment space seriously, as my readers would be posting relevant information and remarks to what I'm writing and talking about.

Lijit has addressed this issue and specific comment here: http://www.lijit.com/blog/2008/09/22/statements-regarding-pub-and-barney-moran/

Thank you.
