Friday Linky Love

2010 January 8
by Grace Boyle

It’s the second Friday Linky Love of 2010 (I’m saying ’0-ten’). I love this quote from Penelope Trunk about ending an old year and beginning a new year. It may or may not resonate with you, but psychologically we have this idea of ‘In with the new, out with the old’ and sometimes, it’s not always possible, right away. I especially love the last sentence…

“I want to say something upbeat about 2010. You know, start on a good note. But it seems so artificial. I don’t think we need to magically be in a great place at the end of a year. Or magically know our goals to start off a new year. I think, sometimes, that it’s already magical that every day we wake up with the strong belief that we can make things better.” -Penelope Trunk

  • @Amber You're welcome! It's a great post and really relays an awesome message.
  • I agree with Trunk. I don't make new years resolutions because for me, every day is a new day. Why do we have to always start on one specific day, do it only the month of January, and then move on.

Doesn't make sense. Vow to be a better person everyday, and those resolutions won't be necessary!
  • @Ryan Well said! I like how you think :) Enjoy your weekend!
