Friday Linky Love

2010 January 22
by Grace Boyle

I haven’t been home much the past few weeks. I was in Jackson Hole for the long weekend, then a day after I hopped on a plane for a business trip to Chicago. Here I am, Friday, looking forward to a weekend at home in Boulder, relaxing. Per my resolution I made in 2009 to spend at least one day/afternoon/night unplugged and by myself, it’s still proving to be wildly beneficial. You should try it too. Once a week.

  • My Mom had Multiple Myeloma, so her story really hit home for me. Wow. I made a small donation and reached out to Brandy.
  • Hey Grace, I was just catching up on my weekend reading and I saw the shout out to my post on the Skool of Life.

    Thanks for that.

And I'm going to try spending one day/afternoon/night unplugged once a week.

Did you suffer from withdrawal the first time you did it?

    -Andrew

  • @Andrew Yes, it was a great post! You're very welcome.

I didn't suffer from withdrawl. That shows me I really needed and wanted it. There's nothing wrong with being plugged in (professionally and personally I have to be really) but that just makes the day/afternoon/night so much more savory when I unplug. Let me know how it goes. I think you will enjoy it :) Then, write a blog post about it!
  • Yay for FLL

I have read that Brandy's post in a lot of places and it's great to see every time. It's heartening that people are rallying. Also, Brandy is a VERY funny writer, I've started reading her blog as a result of this.

Enjoy your time alone this weekend KGB!
  • @Royce I agree, Brandy is a brilliant writer and it is heartening. I enjoyed my time alone, very much, then I spent it with friends too today ;)
  • I love love these linksss
  • I know this isn't usually where people comment - but just had to give a shout - out to you for dedicating time to yourself :)

This was one of my Monthly Goal Meet-Up ideas and it's been hard to follow through :)
  • @Beth Thanks for the shout out. I hope you find some time to dedicate time to yourself. I just carve it out, then have to say no to all other obligations. It's amazing :) Enjoy your weekend!
