Friday Linky Love

Life is so oscillating, so transient. I was talking with my mom this morning (she’s a long-time life coach/counselor) about fear, risk, and protecting yourself from those fears. She mentioned an “unhappy” client of hers in the past who said (paraphrased), “Why should I try to become happy? Eventually I’m going to become unhappy again, so why not just stay where I am, unhappy.” This struck me. Why would we pigeon-hole ourselves to not grow, to not experience? Was I doing that out of fear? There’s never a guarantee for the future, so I invite courageousness while still living in the moment. It’s the best anyone can do.

Speaking of living in the moment and letting go of fear, I’m volunteering (have been for last four months) with The Wellness Initiative’s (TWI) first annual Yogathon. As a participant, I will be completing 108 sun salutations (gulp). TWI helps to improve the physical health, social and emotional development, and academic performance of low-income youth through yoga-based wellness programs.

You still have a day to donate – 100% of donations go to TWI’s programs. You can see my fundraising page here, even $1 counts :) I would love you long time.

  • Haha, "transient." Your mom gives GREAT advice though, and that quote is interesting, but my life is the opposite. I want to always stay where I am right now - happy. :)
  • @Doni I didn't even realize the "transient" see I use it so much! I'm a bum, what can I say?
