Cassandra, well said! We do invite each other into our lives without really knowing each other. It makes no sense to our parents. Couchsurfing is a really good example for that – hosting travelers in your very home. The trust amongst the GenY community is unbelievable.

Although there are definitely some fakers out there, I think honesty — flaws and all — is one of the best things about the 20-something blogging community. In a lot of ways, we embrace each other as friends and invite each other into our lives without truly knowing each other. While older generations might see this as narcissistic or even dangerous, I think it has more to do with the honesty and authenticity you're talking about.

@Matthew well said! Someone who isn't being authentic is easy to sniff out and many things begin to fall afterward if they lose that 'real' edge. I feel like no matter what your profession or drive is, but if you're authentic I respect you. Thanks for stopping by

Authenticity is paramount – once we realize someone isn't being 'real' we lose interest, we stop caring. It's those people who may not always say what is supposed to be said, but rather what needs to be said, or even what they believe, even if it's not the popular choice – it's those people that earn the respect from their peers – and in turn inspire others to follow the same path of authenticity.
